Spring concerts and Hat parade

 Maeve and Cecilia had a fun concert this Spring at OLG. Kyle was cute at his hat parade!

 I can't post videos to the blog but just wanted to document how Kyle seems to be reading at age 4! He picks up new things that he's never read before and seems to know most of the words. He read me his sweet thoughts for Mother's Day (although he thinks I'm 81!). He also loves to do word searches each day! When he fights going to bed because he's still napping at daycare sometimes he even falls asleep doing them!

Cecilia 7 year old stats

 Cecilia did a great job at her appointment today even after throwing up this morning (but of course had a ton of energy at the appointment). We hope she's on the mend.

Cecilia's 7th Birthday

 We celebrated Cecilia's 7th birthday with a present scavenger hunt, birthday donuts, Palm Sunday Mass, rollerblading at Skateville, and dinner at Noodles. We also had a dinner the night before where Maeve worked hard to make a 3 layer cake with fondant and homemade buttercream with the help of Grandma Jan. 

Hawaii - Spring Break 2023

 10 days in Hawaii - we spent a week in Maui and 3 days in Kauai

Highlights include:

• whale watching and seeing a baby whale breach and the kids riding on the front of the catamaran
• learning about the Hawaiian culture at a traditional Luau, the Old Lahaina Luau
• swimming in the pool and seeing friends from school and even learning some hula from a show by the pool
• Waiting in line at Hyatt for Ululani's Hawaiian shaved ice, trying Dole Whip in Kauai, and drinking straight from a coconut
• Eric and Kate got to enjoy the 13 hour drive to complete the Road to Hana while Jan and Steve watched the kids
• Delicious lunch at Mama's fish house - and we even saw several turtles on the beach
• Our first visit to Kauai and seeing beautiful scenery like the Waimea canyon, the lighthouse, the caves, Hanalei bay, the spouting horn, Poipu beach and so many roosters and Nenes (the Hawaii state bird)
• The Beach house was a great meal with a great view (just wished Kyle wouldn't have hit heads with another girl while running on the lawn!) - but the food, the service, and the sunset were amazing
• Capt'n Andy's boat tour around Na Pali coast (even though it downpoured for half the trip! but we did see whales up close and ate a wonderful dinner while the sun was setting - and the rain cleared)
• Eric and Steve got to see a concert by Mick Fleetwood at Fleetwood's on Front street with about 80 people
