Cecilia's First Snow

Cecilia saw her first snow this morning. She's wondering what all the white stuff is and seems a bit skeptical of it all. Her mom is still skeptical after 10+ years of living in Minnesota.
Maeve was excited too. Cecilia is still fighting off RSV so I was holding Cecilia in the chair in her room this morning and Maeve woke up and I didn't hear her. She got out of her bed and went downstairs and opened the door to look for Eric at 5:40am!! He was out there plowing the snow and was wondering what he was doing?!! I'm sure the neighbors were happy about it too :)

Maeve's 3 year old stats

Maeve had a great check-up yesterday. She told the doctor all about her day. She passed an eye exam where they had her match the letters to the eye chart. Her doctor reminded her that she needs to listen to Mom and Dad and get dressed in the morning and that she needs to poop in the potty. Her sister was with us because she had to get her 2nd flu shot. Mom had her hands full with a crying infant after the shot and while feeding her a bottle the toddler exclaimed that she had to go potty. So here I am with one kid in one hand feeding a bottle and the other trying to poop on the potty. Then there was some spit up and a poopy diaper by the infant. I don't know how people do it when they have multiple babies that are the same age! It was crazy but I'm happy that Maeve had a good check up and that Cecilia is finally on the mend after 3 weeks out of daycare. Luckily daycare refunded us a week of tuition! So let's hope that's all we have to deal with for a while.

Maeve's stats:

Height: 37.6" (65%)

Weight: 32.6 lbs (67%)

And here is a picture of Maeve with her birthday twin, Vivian, at school celebrating their birthday. She did not like the cupcakes so she got a special drink and cookies!

Happy 3rd Birthday Maeve

3 years old!! Maeve had a great weekend celebrating. We were lucky to have Grandpa Ed and Grandma Brigid in town because Grandpa Ed presented a sports talk for Notre Dame on Thursday night. It worked out perfectly. We went to the Mall of America and to the Crayola Experience on Friday and to the park. Maeve requested an Elsa birthday party, so on Saturday we invited family and a few friends over for pizza, cookie cake, and ice cream. Maeve doesn't like cake and didn't want us to sing her 'Happy Birthday,' but she enjoyed tearing through her presents in 20 minutes. She got lots of clothes, underwear, stamps, toys, and a camera. Some handmade gifts include towels and a pillowcase (that she promptly stepped in and jumped around - no idea where she's done that before!). On Friday, we gave her the dollhouse that my Grandad made for Anne and me in 1989. She's played with it a lot so far so I think she's going to love this special gift.

Enjoy the pictures of Elsa and Anna at the Frozen-themed party.

Thanks to everyone for the gifts and for coming to the party! She had a blast and keeps requesting to wear the Elsa dress.

7 Months Old

Cecilia is now 7 months old. She's been fighting a virus (we think) for the last 10 days! She hasn't been in daycare which has been pretty disruptive for 2 working parents. Luckily Grandma Jan and Grandpa Steve are in town this week so they've been watching her. We're waiting for some test results to see what it is.

Cecilia is reaching for everything that she shouldn't have. She can inch her way to her sisters crayons, candy wrappers, and small toys. Time to start baby proofing!

This blanket is another one made by Aunt Debbie's mom, Mrs. Collins. We just love having so many wonderful blankets to choose from for the monthly photos!
