Happy Halloween

We had a great night trick-or-treating for an hour with our neighbor and friend, Lucy, and her 5-month old sister, Julia. Maeve enjoyed M&M's (her favorite), figured out how to open and eat a tootsie roll pop, and called everything else fruit snacks (Skittles, Mike and Ikes, and actual fruit snacks). There was a lot of trick-or-treaters on the cul-de-sac behind us but not many visitors to our house. Guess the giant bag of candy from Costco PLUS a giant box of full sized candy bars is going to work on Monday!

We also enjoyed time at Maeve's school fall festival a few weeks ago. There was a horse ride, pumpkin patch with stickers for pumpkins, chili and baked potatoes, a pie bake-off and trick-or-treating at all of the classrooms. We also had cupcakes at school yesterday but Maeve 'doesn't like it' and wouldn't even take one bite.

And today Eric and Maeve went to Great Grandma Joanne's house to say 'Hi.' Maeve enjoyed her time with 'Yaya' and is still going strong tonight after all the candy. Hopefully daylight savings time doesn't mean she'll wake up at 4:30am.

Notre Dame vs USC 2015

Cheer, cheer for old Notre Dame - they won the game in 32 degree weather on Saturday night. Besides cheering for the Irish, we went to a pumpkin patch, an apple orchard in Michigan, and hung out around the house and on campus with Uncle Michael and Aunt Cathy from New York. Maeve was a great traveler as always and she enjoyed showing her grandparents and Aunt Anne how much more she's talking now than she was just a few months ago. As always we had a great time in South Bend and enjoyed our long weekend away from work. Maeve played with her cousin Finn and enjoyed Grandma reading books and putting her to sleep on Saturday night when we were at the game. Kate and Aunt Cathy left after the 3rd quarter since it was 10:30pm and 32 degrees. We watched them win in the warmth back at the house. We also had a morning flight back to MSP and enjoyed making silly faces at Finn who was sitting right in front of us on the plane to catch their connecting flight to Boise. Maeve was also enjoying her last flight as a lap baby. She'll have her own seat on our next flight next month because she'll be 2! We can't believe how fast time as gone.

Mom's group celebrates 2nd birthdays

We can't believe that we celebrated Maeve's upcoming 2nd birthday this past Sunday with all of her friends (and ours too) from the new mom's group. All but 1 toddler was able to make it (he had a fever!) so we had a great turnout to go on tractor rides, play in hay stacks, and pick out pumpkins. Maeve also enjoyed looking at the llamas and cows and didn't seem to be scared by them as she has in the past. All of the other toddlers besides Maeve enjoyed cupcakes and singing 'Happy Birthday!' We're not sure what happened to Maeve as that was her only meltdown of the day. I guess she really doesn't like cupcakes (like her Mom)! After the orchard fun, we went to dinner at a nearby pub. That experience wasn't as fun as we waited for 1 hour for the children's food and by that time it was Maeve's bedtime so we left and grabbed Culver's on the way home and Maeve was asleep within 5 minutes. Luckily we brought her pj's with us and transferred her to the crib when we got home and she kept sleeping. She surprisingly wasn't too impatient at dinner even though we ate 1.5 hours after she usually eats. We're looking forward to all of the fall festivities that we have coming up and hope everyone in Minnesota enjoyed the 80 degree weather this past weekend.
