Swimming lessons for both girls

We had our 2nd swimming lesson last night and everyone loves it. We switch off getting in the pool with Cecilia. She loves going under water and being thrown up in the air. She's doesn't like lying flat on her back.

Maeve, on the other hand, is doing great with her backfloat. She also enjoys the monkey crawl along the edge of the pool and telling the teacher "I don't need any help!" She wants to go swimming every day.

Maeve's 1st Day in Preschool C

Maeve had a great first week in Preschool C. Although the early picture doesn't make it seem like it, she does enjoy wearing uniforms. It was really more about the change of the seasons and with the cooler weather she can't always wear sandals and shorts. It's a tough transition!

She enjoys coloring, cutting paper, and playing dress-up and playing with dolls. She likes to play with her sister and sometimes even sees her outside on the playground at school.

They also had a Grandparent's Day celebration at school on Friday so Grandma Jan and Grandpa Steve enjoyed cookies and lemonade with the girls.

Here are some pictures from the first day and first week.

South Bend and Chicago

We had such a fun Labor Day weekend in South Bend and Chicago. We saw the Irish bring home a victory in the updated stadium and even watched replays on the new video board. We went to the tunnel tour, a pep rally and the South Bend zoo. The girls enjoyed the parks and playing in Grandma and Grandpa's basement. Thanks to Grandma Brigid for watching the girls so we could go to the game.

Chicago was a fun trip for the day. We went to the Lincoln Park zoo and ate deep dish pizza. Maeve loved the carousel and Cecilia loved the monkeys. It was beautiful weather all weekend. Maeve also loved staying at the hotel so thanks to Grandpa Steve and Grandma Jan for the points to stay at a big 2 bedroom unit at the Residence Inn. Cecilia was a much better sleeper on this trip than in Boise.

The girls did pretty well on the flights. It was so short that they didn't nap and Cecilia wanted to move all the time but we managed through.
