Merry Christmas to all!

Merry Christmas!
We have been so blessed to be able to celebrate with all of Eric's family over the past few days before we head to Austin Texas to spend time with Kate's family.  Maeve enjoyed her 2nd Christmas!  Some of her new presents include: A new toy Audi (Dad thinks this is awesome), some stackable blocks, sensory balls that she can play with as she enjoys rolling the ball back and forth, a shopping cart with play food from Grandma and Grandpa and some new PJ's just to highlight a few.

Mom received many new photography gifts including a new lens for our SLR camera and Dad received a new watch.

Blessings to all of you as you celebrate this very special day with all of your family!!

Bah Humbug

Some of us are enjoying this holiday season more than others! We bought a new "maintenance free" tree at Gertens and met Santa, Mrs. Claus, and their reindeer last week. We put up the tree, hung the ornaments, and showed Maeve the tree. You'll see her reaction in the pictures - she didn't like it at all! Next, we continued our tradition of decorating a gingerbread house. We bought Maeve a new booster seat so she could sit at the table with us and help decorate. She preferred to try and eat the rock hard candy and didn't enjoy putting the candy on the house. She preferred to play with the box that it came in. Ah well, better luck with that next year. Last night we went to the downtown Macy's display and explored Santaland and met a different Santa. She really enjoyed Santaland. We enjoyed watching her explore the displays. She loved the flying balloons and the letters that the children were mailing to Santa. But as soon as she saw the scary man in red, she started to cry! Grandma and Grandpa Kirchner tried to entertain her behind the camera but no luck. Then we tried out the new Christmas Village in Downtown Minneapolis. It is a cool idea to have gift shops, food, and music and we went on a "warm" day - 35 degrees - but it wasn't friendly to strollers and Maeve didn't enjoy wearing a hat and mittens. The pictures explain how much Maeve loves Christmas this year - Bah Humbug!
