Cecilia 9 Month Checkup

Cecilia taught herself a new skill recently - crawling!  She is motoring around the house on a regular basis and finding all sorts of things she can pickup off the floor or cords she can pull on.  She is so proud of herself and is clapping, waving and smiling with excitement.
This past weekend, Mom went to Arizona for a girls weekend, so Dad had both girls all weekend.  Many of the local relatives who enjoy helping out were traveling so it truly was Dad and the girls.  Maeve was such a great helper all weekend - having an extra set of eyes on Cecilia was much appreciated.  Dads favorite was when Cecilia would crawl over to the nightlight in our upstairs hallway and start trying to play with it much to Maeve's dismay!!  She would run over to Cecilia and tell her no thank you Cecilia!  Then she would proceed to remove the nightlight from the outlet and "put it up high" so Cecilia couldn't touch it.  Saturday we had a play date with Dads high school friend Craig and his daughter Charlotte.  On Sunday Dad was super brave and took Maeve to an indoor playpark and climbed around on the adventure park.  Dad strapped Cecilia into the Ergo carrier and she went along with us for the adventure!  Other parents were looking at Dad like wow, what in the world is he doing.  Aside from the girls waking up at 5 all weekend (and Cecilia in the middle of the night), Dad really enjoyed the special time together.
Tonight Dad took Cecilia to the doctor for her 9 month checkup.  She checked out in A+ health (for once we aren't going to the doc every other day).  We are going to begin introducing the sippy cup into her meal time and continue trying new table foods.  She is loving her table foods thus far.  We have a new plan for getting this child to sleep through the night, courtesy of the pediatrician who was nearly certain her plan would work.  We will report back after our 7 day program she prescribed.
Below are the stats from her 9 month appointment as well as some pictures from this past weekend/doctor visit.
Height: 28.5 inches - 62%
Weight: 18.1 pounds - 74%
Head Size: 17.5 inches - 62%

Cecilia at school

Cecilia moved up to a new room last week. Can't believe she's not the smallest in the school anymore. We said goodbye to her old teacher and then she showed her excitement on her first day with her new teacher.

They move them up when they start crawling and she's moving all around the room! In her new room, she's eating lots of new food like spaghetti so we have a funny first picture of that. She's also sleeping in the silliest position. She apparently fell asleep and then had a dirty diaper so she sat up and as they were preparing to change her diaper, she dosed off again leaning against the edge of the crib. She did that later that day as you'll see in the next picture and Grandma Brigid actually witnessed something similar when she stayed home with her today. What a silly girl!

Christmas in Boise

We had a wonderful trip to Boise to visit the Edmonds family. We had a house close to Anne, Sean, Finn and Benjamin and did so many activities. Maeve talks about her favorite things to do which include playing with Finn's doctor kit and knocking the snow off the snowman. Boise had a ton of snow so that was fun for the kids. My highlight of the trip was driving up the mountains to the Hot Springs. It was 0 degrees out but we went anyway and enjoyed the hot spring without anyone else there for about 2 hours. We all had a great time there and Maeve remembers that she saw something pink and it was Audrey's goggles under the water in the pool. She was excited that there were pink floaties and goggles to use while we were there. We also went to the arcade to play in the ball pit, jump time to jump on the trampolines, and snow tubing. We think Maeve loved snow tubing the best. Eric enjoyed a day of skiing with Hunter, Kaelyn, Marcia and Paul at Bogus Basin. The only downfall of the trip was that Cecilia had a cold so instead of running to the doctor like we would have here we called the nurse and she suggested a humidifier. That helped clear her up a little bit but didn't help her sleep consistently through the night so we were tired by the end of the trip. Hopefully someday soon she'll sleep through the night! We hope it's her New Year's Resolution!

So fun to see family but now back to reality at work and school.

Here are some videos from the trip:

Enjoy the pictures. You can tell that we enjoyed our time there!
