Christmas Eve

We had a wonderful Christmas. We celebrated early because we head to Boise tomorrow, on Christmas Day. We received lots of nice things and Maeve loved her Elsa slippers and Art easel from Santa and Cecilia liked her "new" sit to stand toy (was Maeve's toy) and pajamas from Santa. Kate got a fit bit and a heated mattress pad and Eric got a meat thermometer and a cold brew coffee system among other things. Cecilia loved eating the bows. She was taking them off of everyone's gifts as you can see from the pictures. Maeve wanted to play with every toy as soon as she opened them. We did art, put her new furniture in the dollhouse, and colored. She was sad that Santa didn't give her a pink colored pencil but then she was glad that she got a pink marker.

In the afternoon we went to Church where we had to get there 45 minutes early to get a seat (much to Eric's dismay) and then he went to the back for about half the service to give Cecilia a bottle and walk around with her. Besides Maeve asking when it would be done, she did a good job at Church. The music was great! Then we headed to Jan and Steve's for a quick bite and to say Hi to YaYa! It was an eventful day!

I also included our pictures with Santa. It's probably the last year that we can go to the Macy's display since the store is supposedly closing. It's a bummer because they have the best Santas. Here is the same Santa that Maeve had when she was 1 years old.

1st Christmas

This is our 1st Christmas as a family of four and our 1st Christmas of the season as we'll be celebrating on Christmas Eve when Santa will visit our home and on Christmas Day by flying to Boise to be with the Edmonds family.

Cecilia wants her 2 front teeth for Christmas as you can see those bottom 2 poking through!

Maeve wants anything Elsa and pajamas so the Kirchner family Christmas gave her more than enough of both! She had a great time at the party at Jan and Steve's and it took us a while to convince her that she couldn't sleep over at their house last night because she had school today. She did, however, get to take a bath in the big jacuzzi tub!

Hope everyone has a great Christmas week.

Nashville - our first trip away

Why yes it's been 3 years and it's our first trip away together from the girls. With Cecilia still not consistently sleeping through the night at 8 months, we were finally pushed to our limit and needed some time to sleep so what better way than to go to Nashville where there's lots of bars, drinks, food, and is the #1 Bachelorette party capital of the U.S. Ha! Well we love country music and it was an amazing trip. We went to the Ryman theatre where the Grand Ol' Opry returns to for the month of December. We even toured backstage after the show. We spent hours at the Country Music Hall of Fame and watched the Christmas parade. When we weren't doing the touristy things, we ate and drank and listened to the live music at the bars. We had lunch with Steve, Kate's cousin, and his co-worker who live and work in Nashville. We really enjoyed the town and besides the 2 hour flight delay on the way home, we had a very relaxing and fun trip.

Thanks to Grandma Jan and Grandpa Steve for watching the girls. We had a scare right before we left because Cecilia was throwing up at school. Luckily it was just the phlegm from her RSV that was causing it so we didn't have to worry too much. Maeve got to go to Frozen Disney on Ice and she loved it. She did get a little bit of a stomach bug on Saturday night so slept on the couch and watched Frozen on Sunday but seemed to bounce back quickly. Cecilia slept through the night 2 out of the 3 nights and finally got the start of her first tooth! We're waiting for it to come out fully but it's definitely there. She's also scooting around on her belly and moving backwards. Just this week she started waving and is such a happy girl!
