I had a great time going back to New Orleans for my high school reunion in August. I saw most of my friends (unfortunately Jessica was sick) but we had a great time at the reunion. I also got to meet Remi and Charlotte and see some of the other kiddos. It was a quick 48 hours but we packed a lot in!
We had a great time visiting the Kirchner cabin this summer. We had fun with the usual games, ski trainer, tubing, and ice cream and good food. Some additional highlights from this year were seeing a glimpse of the Northern lights, seeing a loon up close, happy hours on the boat, having Grandma Brigid and Grandpa Ed come for Kate's birthday weekend, and going to Phelp's mill. Maeve also attempted to get up on real waterskis.
Cecilia is enjoying her new skill - riding a bike without training wheels. We were finally home long enough to practice so we worked on a small grassy hill and then she figured it out. She wants to do our big trail ride but we'll keep practicing before we do that. Hopefully more family bike rides soon!
The kids enjoyed sports this Summer. The girls started piano and enjoy learning a new skill from Jan's friend, Marilyn. Kyle tried out a new skill, too, with ice skating. And all the kids enjoyed soccer and look forward to doing it in the Fall. We even had a crazy day in the downpour but also got to see a double rainbow. We were wet but it made for great memories. The grandparents were there to experience the fun as well!
