Nashville - our first trip away

Why yes it's been 3 years and it's our first trip away together from the girls. With Cecilia still not consistently sleeping through the night at 8 months, we were finally pushed to our limit and needed some time to sleep so what better way than to go to Nashville where there's lots of bars, drinks, food, and is the #1 Bachelorette party capital of the U.S. Ha! Well we love country music and it was an amazing trip. We went to the Ryman theatre where the Grand Ol' Opry returns to for the month of December. We even toured backstage after the show. We spent hours at the Country Music Hall of Fame and watched the Christmas parade. When we weren't doing the touristy things, we ate and drank and listened to the live music at the bars. We had lunch with Steve, Kate's cousin, and his co-worker who live and work in Nashville. We really enjoyed the town and besides the 2 hour flight delay on the way home, we had a very relaxing and fun trip.

Thanks to Grandma Jan and Grandpa Steve for watching the girls. We had a scare right before we left because Cecilia was throwing up at school. Luckily it was just the phlegm from her RSV that was causing it so we didn't have to worry too much. Maeve got to go to Frozen Disney on Ice and she loved it. She did get a little bit of a stomach bug on Saturday night so slept on the couch and watched Frozen on Sunday but seemed to bounce back quickly. Cecilia slept through the night 2 out of the 3 nights and finally got the start of her first tooth! We're waiting for it to come out fully but it's definitely there. She's also scooting around on her belly and moving backwards. Just this week she started waving and is such a happy girl!

  2. Attending the Grand Ol' Opry Show should be on everyone's bucket list. I went many years while attending the NCAA Annual meeting. The girls look pretty happy in the pictures. The first snow of the year hit yesterday.
